The only problem with the deal is that Wynn is suddenly not very interested in working in the Garden State.
In an interview with the Associated Press, Wynn spokesman Michael Weaver said:
As Mr. Wynn said this weekend, online gaming does not appear to be a good entrepreneurial opportunity. Consequently, our plans are on hold until we understand the business opportunity.
Neither Weaver, nor Wynn provided much in the way of details as to why New Jersey isn’t such a great deal. They only said that they are studying the market. Wynn has plenty of experience with land-based casinos in Atlantic after opening the Golden Nugget there in 1980.
A Caesars Interactive spokesman confirmed that Wynn was indeed ok’d to use the Caesars permit, but that nothing was in the works in the near future.
